Given Names in 18th Century New York

We understand that from the 1700's until about 1810, there were three common practices for naming male children in New York:

1. The first born son would often be named after his paternal grandfather.  As a result, two or more cousins often had the same first name.

2. Perhaps to help eliminate some confusion resulting from 1., a first son's middle name was often his father's first name.

3. The second born son would often be named after his maternal grandfather.

Based on the 2nd practice, the best candidate I've found for Isaac F German's father is Filkin Germond.
